I also want to say thank you to the new staff for joining in without knowing how this fundraiser works. A special thank you to Student Council for paying for the initial supplies ( bowls, plates, dinnerware, etc.) which certainly added I appreciate all that you did to make this endeavor so successful. A simple e-mail asking for volunteers for this fundraiser turned into an overwhelming response with offers to cook, purchase, clean, set-up and help with anything. We raised a record $1350 ! The support for fellow faculty members is truly a testament to the fact that TRN has the best staff in all Toms River Schools. Parents in other districts like North Allegheny and Canon-McMillan have also taken legal action over masks.Ms. Meanwhile, the attorney for the parents in this case feel the district should allow for exemptions to masking. The solicitor for the district says keeping the mask mandate is the best way to keep kids in school. "I've not lost faith in the people but I've lost faith in the system and that's the most disappointing part of it," she said. It's an even tougher position for parents like Bullister. "It's unfortunate school districts across the commonwealth are being put in this position." "We really would like more support from the Department of Health," said Kramer. Kramer says she's pleased with the judge's decision to deny the temporary injunction, but she agrees with Hammond on one thing. "The district has broad authority to regulate the management of school affairs and regulate student conduct, including student responsibilities and the health of students in schools," said Peters Township School District Solicitor Jocelyn Kramer.
